Regulatory Mitigation

Pursuant to Title 13, Chapter 72 of the Utah State Code, the Office of Artificial Intelligence Policy is authorized to offer regulatory mitigation agreements to participants in the learning lab to facilitate efforts by Utah businesses to introduce AI technology in the marketplace. For example, mitigation agreements may specify limits on fines for regulatory violations, a cure period  A period of time in which a business may address rule violations by making the consumer whole without having to face regulatory penalties. , or other accommodations while the value of AI technologies is being assessed in a specific application.
